Seriously, I would politely decline and state that there was nothing more to say. Both Gates and Obama attempted to attack this man's character in the press and make it appear that Crowley was in the wrong for doing his job. Gates is a racist opportunist and Obama is obviously sympathetic towards anti-white racists. I would not want to be in the company of either of them.

I think Crowley will ultimately turn down Obama's beer offer since it won't do him any good to accept. If Crowley went to the meeting, it wouldn't surprise me if Obama and Gates gang up on him and try to get him to apologize or admit he was in the wrong.

No it will be just the thing to be able to say that although America voted in a black president, a white American man will not sit down for a beer with a black man EVEN AFTER HE BECOMES POTUS.
It is the perfect way for them to say that voting in Obama changes nothing, America is still racist to it's core and owes blacks something.
Which is why you don't call it "reverse racism". That old saw is dull and never worked. Call it what it really is: Racial bias, racism, or racially motivated agenda. Just because the racism is being used to bully or alienate a majority doesn't make it any less racism.

Crowley would be wise to decline the invitation, given that an apology or "agreement on differences of opinion" is the what the whitey haters are after. Crowley did nothing wrong, Gates lipped off and got arrested. There is no benefit in him going to DC to get ganged up on by two racists.
This. Gates was the one who prejudge Crowley's intent, not the other way around. Black officers have stood behind Crowley 100% - a truly color-blind show of faith. Obama chose to side with Gates WITHOUT KNOW THE FACTS SIMPLY BECAUSE GATES WAS BLACK. He, like Gates, made assumptions about Crowley. Obama only wants the meeting to cover his ass. He made a fool of himself by commenting on a local police matter at a Presidential press conference, something we'd expect from Dan Quayle or Joe Biden.
Gates: I would love for him to look me in the eye and say ‘Professor Gates, I am sorry. I am sorry for the way I treated you. I am sorry for the fabrications I..I had to put in that report. And if he’s sincere, I would forgive him as a human being.
